Jaybird International's vision is to build a better Earth for future generations by converting the majority of waste into reusable and commercially useful products. Developing a circular economy is a core part of this vision.
Our Mission
As an FSSAI-authorized aggregator for used cooking oil, Jaybird International specializes in tech-based waste management solutions and aggregating feedstocks for biofuel companies across the globe. We play a pivotal role in collecting waste used cooking oils from vendors of all sizes across India and converting them into biofuels in partnership with our manufacturing partners. Additionally, we aggregate waste animal fats and oils, which can be recycled and reused in the energy sector.
Why We Collect Used Cooking Oil
Crucial for Biodiesel
Used cooking oil (UCO) is a key element in manufacturing biodiesel, a renewable energy alternative to petroleum.
Environmental Impact
By collecting UCO, we prevent improper disposal that can clog drains and pollute water bodies, reducing environmental footprint.
Economic Benefits
Exporting UCO generates revenue and foreign exchange for India, supporting the growing global demand for sustainable resources.
Our Collection Process
1
Customer Outreach
Customers with over 25 liters of UCO can reach out to us via phone, WhatsApp, website, or email.
2
Representative Contact
Our team gets in touch once we receive an intimation regarding UCO availability.
3
Procurement and Payment
Our team collects the UCO using clean and hygienic procedures at the customer's location and provides payment.
4
Storage and Transport
We collect UCO from various customers across cities and towns, following FSSAI guidelines.
Types of Cooking Oil We Collect
Sunflower Oil
Common in households and restaurants
Olive Oil
Used in gourmet and health-conscious cooking
Coconut Oil
Popular in South Indian cuisine
Vegetable Oil
Widely used in commercial kitchens
We collect all types of used cooking oil and use a multistage filtration process to prepare it for biodiesel production according to industry standards.
Export Used Cooking Oil
Jaybird International is a leading exporter of used cooking oil from India, known for its robust agricultural and food processing sectors. With increasing global demand for sustainable and renewable resources, our commitment to recycling used cooking oil promotes environmental sustainability and reduces waste. Our high-quality used cooking oil is utilized in biodiesel production and various industrial applications, aligning with the global shift towards greener energy solutions.
Economic Benefits of Exporting Used Cooking Oil
Increased Revenue and Foreign Exchange "Used cooking oil exports generate revenue and foreign exchange for India. With growing global demand for biodiesel production, India can capitalize on its large cooking oil consumption to earn export income."
Support for Renewable Energy "Exporting used cooking oil supports biodiesel production, aligning with global efforts to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promote sustainability. India can position itself as a reliable supplier of used cooking oil."
Reduced Waste and Environmental Impact "By exporting used cooking oil, we prevent improper disposal, which can clog drains and pollute water bodies. Recycling this waste product helps reduce India's environmental footprint and contributes to a circular economy."
Government Initiative: RUCO Program
What is the RUCO program?
RUCO (Repurposed Used Cooking Oil) is a program launched by the Indian Government under the Food Safety Standards Authority of India. It aims to prevent the reuse of cooking oil and promote its conversion into alternative fuel (Biodiesel).
How does RUCO work?
FSSAI RUCO authorizes Biodiesel Manufacturers across India, who can appoint UCO aggregators to collect UCO from their state. This helps convert UCO into Biodiesel, avoiding its re-usage in the food chain and reducing conventional diesel imports.
What are the benefits of RUCO?
The program helps reduce health hazards from reused cooking oil, supports the production of renewable energy, and contributes to reducing India's dependence on imported fossil fuels.
Challenges in Used Cooking Oil Collection
Health Concerns
Reusing cooking oil can lead to chronic diseases like diabetes and heart problems. Educating the public about these risks is crucial for successful collection efforts.
Environmental Impact
Improper disposal of UCO can harm the environment. We need to raise awareness about responsible disposal and the benefits of recycling UCO into biodiesel.
Economic Implications
India is a major oil importer. By promoting UCO collection for biodiesel production, we can reduce dependence on imported fuel and support the local economy.
